"The Curriculum Project" (Support for An Approved Private School)

Critically reviewed and analyzed existing curricula and current practices

Curricula reviews for curriculum development included TeachTown, Unique Learning System, and others, highlighting their contributions to inclusive education and the importance of teacher training.

Identified highlights and gaps

Identified what is working in curriculum development and where improvements can be made to enhance inclusive education and optimize teacher training.

Developed a comprehensive K-12+ curricular scope and sequence

S & S is aligned to state alternate standards for students with significant cognitive disabilities, emphasizing the importance of curriculum development, inclusive education, and teacher training.

Created and shared example lessons and materials aligned to the curriculum

Delivered bi-weekly/monthly professional development sessions

Professional development for teachers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals is essential for effective curriculum development, promoting inclusive education, and enhancing teacher training.

In addition to the curricular-focused work, services have also included:

Facilitated weekly grade-band teacher and related services team meetings focused on inclusive education. Co-planned lessons with individual teachers as part of our curriculum development efforts. Supported new teachers through comprehensive teacher training programs. Partnered with Transition teachers and supervisors to customize the process for compiling career portfolios and incorporate data collection of community-based instruction experiences.

This interactive presentation is designed for K-6 students, aligning with effective curriculum development practices, promoting inclusive education, and supporting teacher training.

"I Feel Included When…" Video Compilation

We recorded interviews with students to explore their perspectives on inclusive education and compiled a school-wide video that highlights how our curriculum development initiatives make students feel included.

"Presuming Competence and Potential: The Pathway to Inclusiveness"

Join our interactive workshop focused on inclusive education, where we explore what it means to presume competence and recognize the potential of students and individuals with disabilities. This session will also touch on effective curriculum development and essential teacher training techniques.

"Pathway to Independence Checklist & Matrix" (Support for A Public School)

Customized, prioritized, and aligned checklist of critical skills

We will prioritize curriculum development that focuses on the skills needed to prepare students with disabilities for a successful transition to adulthood, ensuring that we promote inclusive education and enhance teacher training.

Collaboration with teachers and families

We will consider and value input from teachers and families in the curriculum development process, prioritizing essential skills for inclusive education and enhancing teacher training.

Multiple alignments

Will align with: Current assessments and curricula used by the school, state academic and career readiness standards, and the integration of curriculum development, inclusive education practices, and teacher training in line with the 'Top Job Skills by Projected Employment and Demand' in Pennsylvania (2018-2028).

Liaison and Point-of-Contact:

Connect schools, teachers, and students with disabilities in search of volunteer work experience, internships, or part-time jobs with local businesses, while also promoting inclusive education through effective curriculum development and teacher training.

Provide support to students and employers through effective curriculum development and inclusive education practices to ensure the student has a successful experience.

Support for Local Businesses

Prepare and Deliver Trainings and Workshops

Workshops and trainings may include topics such as curriculum development for 'Disability Awareness and Understanding' and 'Creating an Inclusive Workplace,' both of which are essential for promoting inclusive education and enhancing teacher training.
